This year, Dinit proudly took part in the “Clean Up Slovenia of Digital Waste” initiative, now its second year, organized by Ecologists Without Border Association with support from the Ministry of Digital Transformation.
We rolled up our sleeves to help reduce digital pollution by cleaning up unused data from electronic devices, hard drives, and email inboxes – all of which contribute to CO₂ emissions.
What did we do at Dinit?
During the campaign we deleted 362 GB of digital waste that is similar to
- A digital library with approximately 72.400 e-books
- Photo gallery with 90.500 selfies
- More than the entire content of Wikipedia articles in English
Achievement of the Clean Up Slovenia of Digital Waste Campaign
This year, 9.471 individuals and 28 organizations took part in the campaign. Together, all participants deleted a total of 24 TB of data, saving 5 tons of greenhouse gas emissions! Every digital action matters! By reducing unnecessary data, we’re lowering energy consumption and helping create a cleaner, greener future. Let’s keep our digital world clean and sustainable!
